Privacy Policy
  • A commitment is made to you to provide quality professional services, which includes ensuring that your privacy is maintained. In particular, under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Health Records Act 2001, you are entitled to:
  • • know why your personal information is being collected, what information is kept about you and how it will be used
  • • ask for access to your personal records
  • • know which persons or organisations will be given your personal information and why.
  • • assurance that your information will only be used for purposes you have been told you about
  • • know that no identifying materials will be used for presentations or promotion, and that no photographs or recording of interviews will be taken without your permission in advance.
Collection, storage, use & disclosure of personal information
  • Except in certain circumstances your consent is required to collect, store, use and disclose personal information about you.
  • P.E.A.S. facilitator(s) is required by law to collect and store personal information about you at your first appointment/session or before attending programs or workshops.
Record keeping
    Records of your personal and contact details are kept so that you can be contacted in case of necessity, such as a change in your appointment. Counsellor, mentors or workshop facilitators keep written case notes and protected electronic notes and/or participation records given by you when you participate in sessions or other programs or workshops. This confidential information is kept in secure, locked storage or password-controlled drives for seven years and then destroyed.
Government data collection
    Information might need to be communicated with other agencies for NDIS-funded services, but other agencies follow similar accountability and confidentiality requirements.
